Overview
Life happens. Vacations, holidays, appointments, or days when you need a break from the oven. Blocking off dates in The Sweet Spot removes those days from your availability so customers cannot request orders for them. How to Block Off a Date
- Open The Sweet Spot.
- Tap the day you want to block.
- Tap Block Date.
- Add an optional reason (e.g., “Family vacation” or “Holiday”). This note is visible only to you.
- Tap Confirm.
How Blocked Dates Appear on The Sweet Spot
Blocked dates show up as grayed-out tiles on your calendar. They display the reason you entered (if any) and a clear “Blocked” label. No capacity bar appears because no orders can be scheduled for that day. This makes it easy to scan your week and immediately see which days are off-limits.How Blocked Dates Affect The Board
When a customer visits your order form on The Board, blocked dates are not selectable. The date picker skips over them automatically. Customers see those dates as unavailable, the same way they see days outside your regular production hours. This means you do not need to worry about incoming requests for days you have already blocked. The system handles it for you.Good to know: Blocking a date does not cancel existing orders on that day. If you already accepted an order for a date and then block it, you need to handle that order separately. Reach out to the customer to reschedule or cancel before blocking.
Blocking Recurring Dates
If you take the same day off every week (like Sundays and Mondays), you do not need to block each one individually. Instead, set those days as inactive in your Production Hours settings. Blocked dates are best for one-off exceptions to your regular schedule. For recurring closures like holidays that happen once a year, blocking is the right approach. You can block them as far in advance as you like. How to Unblock a Date
- Open The Sweet Spot.
- Tap the blocked date.
- Tap Unblock Date.
- Confirm.
Blocked Dates and Existing Orders
Blocking a date is a forward-looking action. It prevents new orders from landing on that day. It does not automatically cancel or move existing orders. Before blocking a date that already has orders:- Open The Sweet Spot and tap the date to review any existing orders.
- Contact those customers to reschedule.
- Move or cancel the orders as needed.
- Then block the date.
