Overview
Customers change their minds. They add a tier to the cake, swap a flavor, or ask for a different quantity. Knead lets you revise a sent quote, create a new version, and resend it — all while keeping a complete history of every version. When to Revise a Quote
Revise a quote when:- The customer requests changes to products, quantities, or pricing.
- You realize you left something off or made a pricing error.
- You want to offer an updated price after a conversation.
Creating a Revision
- Open the quote from The Counter or the order detail page.
- Tap Revise.
- Knead creates a new version of the quote. The previous version is automatically marked as Superseded.
- Edit the line items, quantities, or pricing as needed.
- Update your personal note if the changes need explanation.
- Tap Send to deliver the revised quote to your customer.
What Happens to the Old Version
When you create a revision, the previous version moves to Superseded status. It is no longer active. The customer cannot approve a superseded version even if they still have the old link. If they tap an old link, they see a message directing them to the latest version.Good to know: Superseded quotes are never deleted. They stay in your version history so you always have a record of what was originally proposed.
Version History
Every quote tracks its full version history. To view past versions:- Open the current quote.
- Look for the Version indicator (e.g., “v2 of 2”).
- Tap the version indicator to see all previous versions.
The Customer Experience
Your customer always sees the latest version. When you send a revised quote:- They receive a new email with a fresh approval link.
- The approval page shows the updated line items and pricing.
- They sign and approve the same way they would any quote.
How Many Revisions Can You Make?
There is no limit. Revise as many times as you need until you and your customer agree on the details. Each revision creates a new version number (v1, v2, v3, and so on).Related Articles
