Overview

The Schedule C Worksheet rolls up your entire year of business income and expenses, organized by IRS Schedule C line, so you (or your tax preparer) can see everything in one place. It’s a prep worksheet to make tax time easier — not a filed return. Always review the figures with a tax professional before filing.

Where to Find It

Tap Schedule C in the sidebar to open /reports/schedule-c. The page is titled “Schedule C Worksheet” with the description “Tax-time view of every business expense rolled up by IRS Schedule C line.” Use the tax-year pills at the top to switch between the current year and the prior two. The Schedule C Worksheet with tax-year pills, the not-a-filed-return banner, and Part I income

It’s a Worksheet, Not a Filing

A banner at the top reads “Worksheet — not a filed return”: “This document organizes your business income and expenses by Schedule C line for review with a tax professional. It is NOT an IRS filing… Verify every figure with your tax preparer before filing.”
Good to know: Knead does not file taxes for you. This worksheet is a head start — your tax preparer takes it from here.

What’s in the Worksheet

The worksheet is laid out to mirror the actual Schedule C form:
  • Part I — Income
    • Line 1 — Gross receipts (cash basis)
    • Line 4 — Cost of goods sold
    • Line 7 — Gross income
  • Part II — Expenses — one row per Schedule C line, ending in Line 28 Total expenses
  • Part III — Cost of Goods Sold — totaling to Line 42
At the bottom:
  • Line 29 — Tentative profit
  • Line 30 — Business use of home (not calculated — ask your preparer)
  • Line 31 — Net profit (or loss)
If you’ve logged mileage, you’ll see a note such as “Line 9 includes mileage: N miles × IRS standard rate = $X”. Part II expenses and Part III cost of goods sold with the Line 29 to 31 totals

Exporting

Two export buttons sit at the top:
  • PDF — opens the worksheet in a new tab
  • CSV — downloads a file named schedule-c-{year}.csv

Fixing Uncategorized Expenses

If any expenses aren’t mapped to a category, you’ll see a warning: “$X in uncategorized expenses are not in the totals below… Map them in Settings → Categories and re-export.” Until they’re mapped, those amounts are left out of the totals — so it’s worth clearing the warning before you export. The footer link “Edit category mappings →” takes you to the category settings.
Pro tip: Clear any uncategorized warning first, then export a fresh PDF or CSV. That way the file you hand your preparer includes every dollar.
