Overview

Stripe handles online payments for Knead. Once connected, your invoices include a Pay Now button and your customers can pay with a credit or debit card. Stripe deposits funds directly into your bank account.

Why Stripe?

Knead uses Stripe as its payment processor. Stripe is trusted by millions of businesses, handles PCI compliance for you, and supports all major card types. You do not need an existing Stripe account — Knead walks you through creating one.
Good to know: Knead never stores your customers’ card details. Stripe handles all sensitive payment data securely.

Connecting Your Stripe Account

  1. Open your Knead settings.
  2. Tap Payments.
  3. Tap Connect Stripe.
  4. Knead redirects you to Stripe’s onboarding flow.

Completing the Stripe Onboarding

During onboarding, Stripe asks for:
  • Business details — Your name, business name, and address.
  • Bank account — Where Stripe deposits your payouts.
  • Identity verification — A government-issued ID to verify your identity. This is required by financial regulations.
The process takes about 5-10 minutes. Fill in each section and tap Submit when finished. Stripe redirects you back to Knead.
Pro tip: Have your bank routing and account numbers ready before you start. It makes the process faster.

What Happens After You Connect

Once Stripe is connected:
  • Your invoices include a Pay Now button with a secure payment link.
  • Customers can pay with any major credit or debit card.
  • Payments are marked as paid automatically in Knead.
  • You see a Stripe Connected badge in your payment settings.
You do not need to change anything about how you create or send invoices. The payment link is added automatically.

How Payouts Work

Stripe collects payments from your customers and deposits them into your bank account on a rolling basis. The default payout schedule is:
  • Daily payouts — Stripe sends available funds to your bank every business day.
  • 2-day rolling window — Funds from a payment are typically available for payout two business days later.
You can view payout details and history in your Stripe Dashboard at dashboard.stripe.com. Knead focuses on invoicing and order management — Stripe handles the money movement.
Good to know: Stripe charges processing fees on each transaction. See Understanding Processing Fees for details.

Disconnecting Stripe

If you need to disconnect Stripe, go to Settings > Payments and tap Disconnect. Your existing paid invoices are not affected, but new invoices will no longer include a payment link.
