Overview

The Counter is your home screen in Knead. It gives you a snapshot of your business right now: what is coming up, what needs action, and how revenue is tracking. Start every day here.

Upcoming Orders

The top of The Counter shows your upcoming orders sorted by fulfillment date. Each card displays the customer name, products, date, and current status. This is your at-a-glance view of what is on deck for the next few days. Tap any order card to open the full order detail.
Pro tip: Check this section first thing each morning. It tells you what you need to bake today and what is coming tomorrow.

Orders Needing Action

Below your upcoming orders, The Counter highlights orders that are waiting on you. These are orders stuck at a status that requires your input:
  • New enquiries waiting to be accepted or declined.
  • Accepted orders that still need an invoice.
  • Paid orders ready to move into production.
Each item shows how long it has been waiting. Tap an item to go straight to that order and take the next step.
Good to know: The Counter only shows orders that need YOUR action. Orders waiting on customer payment do not appear here.

Revenue Summary

The Counter includes a revenue overview so you can track income without leaving the dashboard. You see:
  • Revenue this week — Total from completed and paid orders in the current week.
  • Revenue this month — Running total for the current calendar month.
  • Outstanding invoices — The total amount invoiced but not yet paid.
These numbers update in real time as payments come in and orders are completed.

Recent Activity

The activity feed at the bottom of The Counter shows a timeline of what has happened across your bakery. Examples include:
  • A new enquiry submitted by a customer.
  • An invoice payment received.
  • An order moved to a new status.
  • A customer message or note added.
The feed is chronological with the most recent events at the top. It is a quick way to catch up on anything you missed since you last checked in.

How to Use The Counter to Start Your Day

Here is a simple daily routine built around The Counter:
  1. Open Knead. The Counter loads by default.
  2. Check upcoming orders. See what is due today and tomorrow.
  3. Handle anything needing action. Accept enquiries, send invoices, or move paid orders into production.
  4. Glance at revenue. Know where you stand for the week.
  5. Scan recent activity. Catch up on payments, messages, and status changes.
This takes two to three minutes and sets you up for a focused bake day.
Pro tip: If you use Knead on your phone, The Counter works as a mobile-friendly view. Check it while your oven preheats.
