# Magic Link and Google Sign-In

> Sign in without a password using a magic link or your Google account.

## Overview

Knead offers two passwordless ways to sign in: magic link and Google sign-in. Both get you into your account without remembering or typing a password.

## Option 1: Magic Link

A magic link is a one-time sign-in link sent to your email. No password required.

### How to Use It

1. Go to the Knead login page.
2. Enter your email address.
3. Tap **Send Magic Link**.
4. Check your email inbox for a message from Knead.
5. Tap the link in the email.
6. You are signed in.

The link works once and expires after a short period. If it expires, go back to the login page and request a new one.

### Tips for Magic Links

* **Check your spam folder** if the email does not arrive within a minute.
* **Use the same email** you registered with. Magic links are sent to your account email.
* **The link opens in your default browser.** If you are using the mobile app, the link may open in Safari or Chrome first, then redirect you back.

<Note>Good to know: Magic links are valid for one use only. If you tap the link and get an error, request a fresh one from the login page.</Note>

## Option 2: Google Sign-In

If you have a Google account, you can sign in with one tap.

### How to Use It

1. Go to the Knead login page.
2. Tap **Sign in with Google**.
3. Select your Google account (or sign in to Google if prompted).
4. You are signed in.

### What Google Sign-In Shares

Knead receives your name and email address from Google. It does not access your Google contacts, calendar, Drive, or any other data. The connection is used for authentication only.

## First-Time Sign-In

Both magic link and Google sign-in create your Knead account automatically if one does not exist yet. You do not need to go through a separate registration step. Enter your email or select your Google account, and Knead sets up your account on the spot.

After your first sign-in, you are taken to the onboarding wizard to set up your bakery profile.

<Tip>Pro tip: Use Google sign-in if you want the fastest experience. One tap and you are in — no waiting for an email.</Tip>

## Switching Between Methods

You are not locked into one sign-in method. If you signed up with a magic link, you can use Google sign-in next time (as long as your Google account uses the same email). If you signed up with Google, you can request a magic link instead.

You can also set a password in your account settings if you prefer traditional sign-in. All three methods work with the same account.
